Ever have one of those embarrassing moments when your kid makes an announcement to the world and you want to crawl in a hole? I have those occasionally with Bubba. The other day we were at Chick Fil A having a mommy-son lunch. I have been trying to do this more lately so I can get Thomas to behave when we go to dinner with the family. Not sure what happens but he is pretty calm with me but when we go out in public as a group, he turns into a little fidgety animal!!
This trip he was being wonderful. He ate all of his food and I decided to let him turn his toy in for ice cream. And to award me I got a milkshake. I love their cookie and cream milkshakes! After our desserts we headed into the playroom. There were a couple other moms in there and the kids were mostly around Bubba’s age. He isn’t comfortable climbing up into the play set so he stays in the toddler area. Today he just wanted to play with the door. I was enjoying talking to the two moms and getting to know them.
All of a sudden it hit me that I had to go to the bathroom and I was going to have to drag Bubba out of the playroom. He of course caused a scene but I finally convinced him that we were coming right back that mommy had to go to the bathroom. So we headed to the restroom where I constantly had to keep telling him, “Don’t touch anything!/ Get off the floor!/ Stop flushing the toilet while I am using it!” He was extremely happy to get out of there and so was I!
I opened the playroom door and the other two moms smiled at me when I walked back in. As I am taking Bubba’s shoes off he announces to the room “Mommy went poo poo!!” And not once but a couple of times just in case anyone didn’t hear him the first time. Thanks for announcing that to everyone Bubba!!
