I knew this day would come and I have dreaded it for almost three years now. We have finally reached the pinnacle of potty training. I knew it was going to be tough and I knew it was going to test my patience… but come on! Can’t they just wear diapers and learn how to clean themselves?? Today I literally yelled “Curse You Potty Training!!” Okay maybe not those exact words but this is a family friendly website so that is what you get!!
We had days where there were no accidents. Then we had days where he would remove all clothing from the waist down. Then there were days like yesterday… thank goodness they don’t happen often! Bubba has been doing brilliantly at school with his potty training and I hope they aren’t sugar coating it. Because I haven’t heard one thing about taking all of his clothes off or even having an accident.
So I was shocked when I heard “uh oh” coming from the bathroom yesterday afternoon. He had been dancing around holding himself and refusing to go to the potty. In hindsight, I should have taken him in there and just put him on the potty! Well of course he ran in there once I offered him a bandaid (it is amazing what you can bribe kids with these days!) as a bribe. When I heard those two dreaded “uh oh” words, I thought it can’t be that bad right? WRONG!! I walked into the bathroom and he put his little hand up in the air like he was surveying his kingdom and said “there is pee pee everywhere!”
He wasn’t kidding! There was pee pee all over the wall, floor, bathtub, and door. I am not sure how he got it over all those surfaces, but I have learned my lesson, as Nina says it best… Don’t wait to go!
And he has learned a little lesson as well, he keeps telling people that mommy got very angry yesterday because he got pee pee EVERYWHERE!! He better be glad he is so cute and I love him so much!!
