I always get asked is there enough to do at Magic Kingdom for our littlest mouseketeers? Really? This is a place the lures you in with a giant mouse! Of course there is something for everyone of all ages and sizes!
So you have decided to plan your first trip to Disney World and aren’t sure where to start. My first suggestion is to check Disney’s Magical Beginnings Guide. This guide gives you all the information needed to decide which parks you will be visiting with your little mouseketeer.
As not to overwhelm you, I will only focus on the Magic Kingdom today. I am sure your family will have their favorites and after many, many, many trips, I have come up with our favorites.
Our consistent favorite is Cinderella’s Golden Carrousel. There is no age limit or height restriction. You can sit on a bench or there are two sizes of horses to ride. Bubba started by riding in hubby’s lap on a bench and graduated to the small horse on our last visit! Some trips we ride it twice.
Another one of our favorites is It’s a Small World. This ride is great because small children can sit by themselves or you can hold them in your lap. We did go through a stage where he wasn’t too keen on all of the little puppets, but it is a safe ride, short waiting line and it is mostly shaded or what feels like air conditioning.
The Winnie the Pooh ride is also a great ride for kids. Disney was smart to put all sorts of activities to keep the children happy and entertained while they wait in line. When the line is moving quickly it helps to have things like drums and digital interactive walls to keep them from getting fussy. If there is a 30 minute or more wait, get the FastPass!
And last but not least is Peter Pan’s Flight! This is the only ride that we have to get the FastPasses or we don’t ride it, but he loves the smooth ride, boats and stars. The standby wait time is always over 45 minutes long. I don’t know about you, but there is only so long you can entertain a toddler until a magical meltdown…and those aren’t pretty!
There are other rides that are great for your little mouseketeers! Check the Magical Beginning Guide to figure out your route. But remember to try and not over pack your schedule. Your little one will have a wonderful Disney experience whether you ride every ride in the park or only meet the characters!
