So I was visiting with Bubba’s teacher the other day and we were talking about how much he is growing up and how proud we both are of him. Especially since he is the youngest in the class. But this also gave us time to exchange some funny Bubba stories too!
I knew this day would come and I have dreaded it for almost three years now. We have finally reached the pinnacle of potty training. I knew it was going to be tough and I knew it was going to test my patience… but come on! Can’t they just wear diapers and learn how to clean themselves?? Today I literally yelled “Curse You Potty Training!!” Okay maybe not those exact words but this is a family friendly website so that is what you get!!
Who would have thought that children will start taking your money at 2 years old?? I figured that this would come later in his life. You wouldn’t think he would have any concept of money yet, right??
Ever have one of those embarrassing moments when your kid makes an announcement to the world and you want to crawl in a hole? I have those occasionally with Bubba. The other day we were at Chick Fil A having a mommy-son lunch. I have been trying to do this more lately so I can get Thomas to behave when we go to dinner with the family. Not sure what happens but he is pretty calm with me but when we go out in public as a group, he turns into a little fidgety animal!!
So this will be a quick post tonight, but I had to share with you guys something hilarious that happened to us today. Does anyone else have this crazy little shadow that follows you around and shrieks and screams when you are out of their sight? Bubba is going through this crazy phase where he has to follow me around to make sure I am either not leaving him or doing something fun without him… like going to the bathroom! Yes I have little fingers under the door begging me to open the door and let him in.
Today was the same except this time he used a new tactic. This is how it went down:
Let’s face it, the holidays can be a very stressful time of the year. Most families spend lots of time searching for the perfect gifts or decorating and cleaning for up coming guests. I for one can’t go into a store without walking out with a lot of stuff that we don’t need. And I still have about half of our gifts that I haven’t gotten yet. See…STRESS!!
We won’t be spending time on the roads this holiday season. Our family alternates with in-laws so we are all together every other year. So this is the year that everyone is coming here to Florida. We have had some beautiful weather recently. So of course we have a high of 81 degrees tomorrow! Make up your mind Mother Nature…
We live a little ways out of town so we aren’t the ideal place for family to stay. I love to entertain and really want people to stay with us…the more the merrier. My hubby doesn’t share my enthusiasm! The only down side to entertaining is cleaning and decorating. Luckily (but not happy about this) my mom wins this year and my sister and her family is staying with them so I won’t have to get the inside of the house ready. But this year I wanted my house to look like one of those houses that you can see the lights from space. My imagination and ambition takes over and my body never catches up. Our outdoor lights (which are 3 years old) are still in the box sitting on the counter. At least we have the tree, stockings and the inflatable outdoor Christmas Mickey Mouse up this year. Maybe next year!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!
